Doc-U-Lok® software is designed to prevent tampering with both printed and digital documents, and to enable easy detection of unauthorized printing of digital documents. It has successfully protected printed labels, tax receipts, birth certificates, trip permits, legal documents, titles, registrations, checks, money orders, pay stubs, and ID cards for more than 10 years. The option of protecting digital documents has been added in 2003.

Doc-U-Lok® software encodes variable data at the point of document creation. This can be Microsoft Word® application installed on a workstation, web server delivering PDF files over the Internet or Intranet, label-printing software, or any custom document generation system. The encoded Doc-U-Lok® image is embedded into a digital document and it is printed with the document. The authentication can be performed on both digital and printed document, thus bridging critical digital-to-paper gap in document management and security systems.
